This palacial house stands right in the centre of Villa de La Orotava, an historic town in the north of Tenerife.
The initial construction dates back to the end of the sixteenth century although the main facade, with its obvious Neo-classical style, is due to alterations made in 1807 by Don José de Béthencourt Castro y Molina, and the interior was extensively redesigned at the beginning of the twentieth century. The facade encapulates the Neo-classicism in this town because of its symmetry, the arrangement of its spaces, the curved outer wall and the carved stone that crowns the windows of the main floor.
